Taisa Afinskaya is a Vancouver Career College Registered Massage Therapy graduate. Throughout her studying program and after the graduation she had an opportunity to witness and incorporate different massage techniques to effectively alleviate her patients acute and chronic symptoms, and to gain experience treating a wide range of patients.
Taisa Afinskaya is a massage therapist in Burnaby by Metrotown offering deep tissue, relaxation, ICBC, sports and pregnancy massage for stress & pain relief. The treating experience has given her the confidence to assess and treat multitude conditions. Taisa takes integrated approach when treating patients because she believes that different factors influence one’s wellbeing.
During treatment session she listens actively and carefully assesses the patients to produce the most appropriate and effective treatment goals. She always works in tandem with her patients and takes personal interest in resolving the patients’ conditions. She enjoys seeing her patients progress in their overall health and wellness.

Taisa uses a variety of massage techniques, such as proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, ROOD’s approach, trigger point release, myofascial release, joint mobilization, lymphatic facilitation, Swedish, and Petrissage to reduce the symptoms of patients who suffer from edema, neurological deficit, muscle, visceral or neurological pain, headache, stress, muscle tension, joint stiffness, decreased range of motion of the joints, and poor posture and biomechanics. Taisa is also planning to take a course to obtain IASTM certificate to be able effectively re-align patient’s scar tissue from previous injuries or surgeries.
Originally from Odessa, Ukraine, she obtained her two University degrees in Pedagogical and Dental fields of study before she emigrated to Canada. After settling in Vancouver, she started volunteering at Hospice and there she decided that she wants to dedicate her life to helping others. Taisa strives to continue her study to develop and increase the current knowledge and skills in massage therapy.
