Summer Ip
Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac)
Acupuncture in Burnaby
Though she moved from Hong Kong to Vancouver as a child, Summer Ip has always found herself fascinated and drawn to the intricacies of Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). A well rounded TCM practitioner, Summer’s skillset includes traditional acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, facial rejuvenation acupuncture, ear acupuncture, moxibustion, gua sha, and cupping therapy.
While it is an established practice in Asia and is a safer alternative to surgery or Botox, facial rejuvenation acupuncture is still relatively new in the western world. An extension of traditional acupuncture, it naturally stimulates the skin to produce collagen and elastin, the proteins responsible for warding off wrinkles and fine lines. This is an area of special interest for Summer and she has devoted further study specifically in this practice.
In addition to facial rejuvenation acupuncture, Summer is also skilled in treating musculoskeletal pain, in stress and anxiety management, sleeping disorders as well as in pre and post menopausal management.
Summer’s passion has always been helping people and after completing a Bachelor’s degree in Alberta, she came back to British Columbia to complete her internship in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Summer is a Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac) as well as a Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner (R.TCM.P) and is authorized to prescribe, compound or dispense Chinese herbal medicine.
Facial Acupuncture, also known as Facial Renewal Acupuncture, Cosmetic Acupuncture or Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, focuses on treating the face at skin level. The facial renewal is very holistic and Summer uses acupuncture to treat wrinkles and sagging skin. Summer used acupuncture to help increase blood flow which helps maintain healthier skin and muscle tone by sending nourishment, moisture, and “lifting” energy to the skin and muscles of the face.
Summer is a well rounded Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner who not only practices acupuncture but is proficient in electro-acupuncture, facial acupuncture, moxibustion, gua sha, and cupping therapy to fit the needs for all her clients.
