Gayoung (Chloe) Kim completed her massage therapy education at Vancouver Career College of Massage Therapy in Burnaby in July 2023.
She has experienced many strains and sprains in daily life that made her want to learn more about self-care and rehabilitation. After experiencing the effect of massage therapy, she pursued her study in massage therapy to help others.
She is particularly interested in working with fascia/soft tissue, her style of therapeutic massages involves mostly GSM, Trigger point release, Golgi tendon organ release, Joint mobilization, and Fascia release. Chloe specializes in Golgi tendon massage where she is able abled to massage and detect high tension in the tendon that sends signals to the spinal cord. This triggers a reflex called the Golgi tendon reflex or inverse myotatic reflex. This reflex causes the muscle connected to the tendon to relax, thereby preventing excessive force or tension on the muscle and tendon.

One of Chloe’s other areas of specialty is fascia massage. Many people have very tight fascia which s a connective tissue that surrounds and separates muscles, organs, and other structures within the body. It is made up of collagen fibers and has a fibrous, web-like appearance. Fascia plays a crucial role in providing support and protection to various parts of the body. She is able to help release muscle tension in the:
Superficial Fascia: Located just beneath the skin and contains fat cells. It helps insulate the body and provides a layer of protection.
Deep Fascia: This surrounds and separates muscles and groups of muscles. It forms partitions within the body and helps maintain the structural integrity of muscles.
Chloe provides effective release tissue tension, adhesions, maintain joint health and range of motion, muscle soreness and decrease knots or nodules in the muscle
She is well adapted in providing each patient with their own individualized home care. So, she prefers to help restore the optimal functioning of their body and pain-free movements.
Outside of work Chloe loves to explore travel, take pictures of food, and try different restaurants in the city. also walks through the trails and hikes on the local trails with her dog. she loves dogs and cats.
